The staff were all so friendly and helpful, and the hotel and swimming pool were fabulous. Breakfast was scrumptious, and the rooms were spacious with really big, comfortable beds. On my two separate stays, I had room 312 with a reasonable pool view, then room 502 with a fantastic view of the pool and the lush mature trees and shrubs. I stayed here around a four day trip away to Hornbill Lodge. It's a pleasant 20-25 minute walk downhill to town, with a harder climb back up, though most people should manage it. There's a sort of pavement for most of the way, but watch for broken or missing drain covers if you walk at night. Grab costs around 5-6 ringgit if you'd rather not walk.

The hotel is set right in the rainforest, and you might even spot a local Monitor Lizard when you're swimming in the pool. The staff were so friendly and helpful. When one of our tours didn't pick us up, the concierge quickly arranged a similar one for us. We had a junior suite with a balcony, a really comfortable bed, and lots of room in both the bedroom and ensuite. After a late trip out, we ate in the bar/cafe one evening and the food was delicious. It's a nice place to sit and relax over a drink after exploring. Breakfast is an okay buffet, and the pastries are worth grabbing. Download the grab app to make getting around easier.

The pool was stunning, and the food was delicious. It was my first stay in Malaysia, and the hotel was absolutely beautiful. The staff were superb, especially at the front desk, where they helped me sort out my sim card issues. I'd highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

There was a surprising amount of wildlife around the hotel, including squirrels, geckos, mantids, frogs, and more. They even have a little wildlife trail through the gardens. There's also a nice pool and a decent restaurant. It's a lovely base for exploring Sandakan. The hotel sits up on a hill, so you get beautiful views on the way down to town, though it's a long walk back uphill. With the hotel facilities, we didn't really need to go into town, and we found it less welcoming than the other towns we visited. A nice little gem, really.

The buffet was scrumptious, with lots of my favourite dishes, and the staff were kind and helpful. The beds were plush and comfortable. The toilet was clean and spacious, with amenities, a bathtub, and a covered shower area. It's a bit far from town, but I had a very pleasant stay.
