Masson Hotel Butterworth

At RM135 a night, it's a good deal, but once the price is above RM150, I don't think it's worth it. The room is very small, and the TV and bed aren't aligned. I had big, slow mosquitoes in my room, and the pillow and towel had a strange smell, not exactly smelly, just odd. There's no car parking or breakfast. The good part is the location, close to the mall, 7E, mamak shops and ATMs.

Everything you might need, from food and 7-11 to the cinema and mall, is within a 200m walk. The location is hard to beat. It's a converted shoplot with an interesting design, a lift and large rooms, though the cleanliness could be better. If you're driving, there's only street parking, which requires the local council app. Also watch out for birds overhead!

There's plenty of food nearby, and Sunway Carnival Mall is within walking distance. The hotel has no dedicated guest parking, and roadside public parking is very limited. Our room had no windows, but there was enough space to hang our riding gear. The air conditioning worked well, and the hotel was clean and ok. The Masson Hotel Butterworth is a good option if convenience and affordability are your main priorities.

One of the newer hotels around here, with clean, comfortable, medium-sized rooms. The bathroom water pressure is excellent, better than at most budget hotels, and the staff are friendly. It's in a strategic spot, about a 10-15 minute walk to Nasi Kandar Beratur 786 and Sunway Carnival. Parking is limited, which is the only downside.
