Neo Paly Hotel

The room design is acceptable for the price, and the family room has two king beds. The toilet is a bit small, but the view is amazing. It’s not a full-service hotel: there’s only a small check-in lobby and no cafe inside. Breakfast is a four-minute walk at its sister hotel. The staff were attentive and friendly, kudos. I’ve seen complaints about being charged for soiled towels, but that didn’t happen to me. My kids got a bit of chocolate on one towel and I had no such issue. The location is close to many of the town’s smaller shops and food places, though the jetty is farther away, around a 10-minute walk.

The balcony views are amazing, and the staff are friendly. A very nice hotel!

Clean, comfortable rooms, but there’s no parking available.

The room was reasonably clean, though it could be better. The bed was comfortable, the aircon cold, and the water heater worked well. We were on the sixth floor, the highest one, with a good view and no noise from the main road, probably because of the height. We arrived around 1:30 p.m. but couldn’t check in until 3. Luckily, we could leave our bags and go for lunch. I think a lot of people stay here for the first night before transferring by boat to Mabul or Kapalai resort the next morning. I didn’t have much else to complain about. There’s no cafe, so breakfast comes as a voucher for nearby NanHai seafood restaurant, about 100 metres away. You can choose one main dish and a drink. I had curry noodles and my wife had half boiled eggs with toast. The curry didn’t have much curry flavour, so the meal was below average. The coffee and tea were fine. Don’t expect a tasty breakfast and you’ll avoid disappointment. Still, I think it’s a good hotel to stay at.
