The staff were friendly and trying their best, and I'm grateful for that. I moved rooms because the pillows smelled damp and the first room had no window, then paid extra for a larger room with one. The sink in that room leaked, cleaning was missed one day, and the bed wasn't very comfortable. The air conditioning was loud enough that I left early during the night. It may be just okay for a short, inexpensive stay, but I'd look elsewhere if you can. Sharing this in case it helps others planning a visit.

Sipadan lived up to its reputation, and all three dives we did in July 2022 were amazing. The dive team was excellent, professional and very nice, and the hostel arranged everything for us. We stayed two nights and could use a safe box while diving. At the hostel, the room was clean and comfortable, and the team was available around the clock. The manager took time to explain the whole process and welcomed us with great kindness and professionalism.

The rooms at The Holiday Dive Inn were clean, and its spot right across from the dive shop we used made things convenient. It's a very basic hotel and doesn't serve breakfast, though there are a few nearby places for a quick, cheap meal.

We ended up spending two hours looking for another place after this hotel refused our Agoda booking, saying the price had been set by them. If that was the issue, why keep the hotel on the booking site? The woman running it was really rude and uninterested in helping, and she wouldn't let us use the internet to contact the booking company. We were also asked to pay extra on top of the booking price to secure a room. Absolutely shocking practice.

It's a basic, clean room and an okay budget stop before going to Mabul island. The bathroom pipe made the room smell like a dirty toilet, even though everything itself was clean.
