Palazzo Hotel

The location is great and the price is reasonable, so I would still recommend it. I stayed for three nights, though, and there was quite a bit of noise outside the room. Sometimes a mother was yelling at her child, and other times kids were playing without supervision. That's hard for the hotel to control since it's down to the guests. Cleanliness gets a 7/10 from me: my friend and I both felt itchy lying in our beds, and it happened with both beds. We're not sure if our skin was sensitive or if there was a problem with the beds. The hotel should pay more attention to the mattresses and bedsheets.

The only thing going for this hotel is that it's near the airport. At 100 ringgit for one night, it was extremely overpriced. We were shocked and frightened when Jawi religious police forcefully banged on our door without warning or explanation. It was intimidating and distressing. We're non-Muslim travelers from outside the area, and the hotel staff didn't help or do anything to stop what felt like harassment. We didn't feel safe or supported. I wouldn't recommend staying here, especially for international or non-Muslim guests.

The room itself was okay, but the air conditioning took hours to cool it down. It needs regular maintenance. The staff were also completely unhelpful and unprofessional. We enjoyed the Ayam Penyet at a nearby place and asked the team for its details so we could recommend it to our family. They just kept saying “cannot” and wouldn't explain why. That basic lack of service was really disappointing. I won't stay here again or recommend it to anyone. I hope they train the staff to communicate properly and help guests.

My room was dirty, smelled of smoke and had poor air circulation. It was small for the price, and the soundproofing was terrible. I was next to the balcony, with a restaurant nearby playing loud music until 3 am, so I couldn't sleep. I called the staff, but they said they couldn't do anything, change rooms or refund me. They also admitted I wasn't the first person to complain. If you get room 312, good night and good sleep 😀
