The Crown Hotel Klia

I found the hotel modern, clean, and well kept, and had a comfortable stay during a recent trip to Crowne Plaza Kuala Lumpur City Centre, just outside the airport area in Kuala Lumpur. The spacious room had strong air-conditioning and dependable Wi-Fi, and the bed felt especially good after a long journey. Check-in went smoothly, and the staff were friendly and efficient. From the perspective of Lonely Traveler Productions, it’s a dependable option for transit travellers who want comfort and style without going far into the city. A solid choice to consider for an airport-area stay.

The room didn’t come close to the advertised standard, and it felt poorly maintained for what I paid. I booked a superior room, but found a cockroach on the bed. The place was extremely dirty, with stained bed linen and bath towels that looked as if they hadn’t been washed properly. The air conditioning couldn’t cool the room, so staying there was uncomfortable. One of my worst hotel experiences, a real waste of money. I’d advise people to avoid it.

At checkout, we raised the problems and the staff member showed no concern or professionalism. He simply repeated our complaints back to us, which felt dismissive and disrespectful and solved nothing. We had paid for a superior room, but walked into a filthy, neglected space. A cockroach was crawling on the bed, and the sheets and towels were covered with stains and looked like they hadn’t been washed in ages. The air conditioning barely worked and didn’t cool the room, making the stay miserable. It was run-down and nowhere near worth the price or what was advertised. Calling it low quality would be generous. The whole experience felt like a scam, and more like a shady short-stay dump than a proper hotel. A revolting, disgraceful waste of money, time, and patience. Avoid it.

We arrived at 11 pm and only then learned that the electricity had failed at 5 pm. No one had told us beforehand. Although we were supposed to get a family room, they gave us a superior room instead, saying the power was broken and the aircon was off. The facilities weren’t good, the room didn’t feel safe, and there was no security guard. This was presented as a THREE STAR HOTEL, but it didn’t feel suitable for my family. We decided to go back to the airport. While we were in the lobby, someone who wasn’t a guest and had been hanging around the hotel for several days took a photo of my family and me. The manager offered no compensation and refused to refund what we paid, including the tax. My family and I had a bad experience.
