Karim and his wife were so kind and welcoming, they made our stay lovely. We went with a room without windows because it was quieter. In June, two fans were enough for us, and we managed fine without AC. The rooms are very simple, but with hosts this lovely, we didn't need anything else. Thanks for everything!

The best parts for me were the location, how warm the owner Mr. Karim was, and how easy it was to walk to Malacca's famous sights. Laundry Dobi Yellow Hotel is close too. This place is cheap compared with other hotels in the famous Malacca Sentral area, so maybe you can't complain much about what you get. Still, I'm not sure I'd stay again. There are 4 bathrooms for almost 20 bedrooms, and I found sharing with other Indian guests a bit disgusting. The bedroom decor is basic and old, with one plastic sitting desk, one mirror, and an old mattress. It was enough for a quick rest between night and early morning, then sightseeing all day, but not a staycation. The area gets crowded during the day because of the traditional market and Chinese and Indian shops nearby. If you're a woman traveling alone, I'd avoid returning to the guest home after 9.00 pm, when it's quiet and dark, in case something bad happens.

I first stayed at Karim CT guesthouse 6 years ago, and nothing has changed. I always enjoy coming back. Karim and his wife are the friendliest, warmest people I've met in Malaysia. They also have a really nice restaurant that you must visit!
