Arena Premier Hotel

I felt welcomed at first, but the service was completely lacking. I asked about laundry when I checked in. They only picked it up after 10 the next morning and said it would be ready at 4, but I had to ask again before they handed it over. I couldn’t even go to breakfast, yet they wanted me to pay the full amount to extend my stay. No one helped with the laundry or offered to put my bag on the trolley. When I asked for the room to be made up, they waited until I called; I ended up going to the counter wearing only a towel to ask for room service. And when I asked for the WiFi password, the staff member looked at me strangely. Is that hospitality? I wouldn’t recommend this hotel at all. The place has a nice urban style and tech, with fengshui, but the staff didn’t have a helpful attitude. I’m editing this because I wasn’t satisfied with the management’s reply: they said a refund wasn’t possible and offered a discount on my next visit as a goodwill gesture. A discount for a second stay? I paid nearly RM400 for two nights in a standard Deluxe twin room. This feels like guests are treated differently based on skin colour. What is this attitude?

The staff were courteous and helpful, and the breakfast buffet was enjoyable. Our room was spacious, very clean, and comfortable, with soft towels, good bedding, chairs, a desk, blackout curtains, a water boiler, and tea and coffee. The TV had plenty of channels and the WiFi worked well. Prices were reasonable, too. Arena is a welcome new addition to Seremban. The hotel isn’t close enough to walk to the bus terminal or old town, but there are taxis at the terminal and Grab is easy to get. There’s a small mall in the Arena complex with a few places to eat, though no alcohol is available. Walk down the hill and you’ll find more restaurants and stores.

The surroundings were nice, the room had tissue paper, and it felt very comfortable. The food selection was also quite limited, perhaps because of the room price or the puasa period. I stayed for the first time last week after my family recommended the place, but housekeeping let the experience down. I found leftover food under the bed. A low price shouldn’t mean sloppy service, so please pay attention to the cleaning. Cleanliness is a big part of how I judge a stay.
