The room and toilet were clean, and we were really pleased with the room. It was great value, and the staff were good too. The hotel is across the river from the waterfront and within walking distance of the Sibu river cruise. Parking is a bit limited, with spaces along the shoplots. There’s no elevator, which is okay for a budget hotel, but the stairwell was too narrow.
The clean bedsheets and blanket, comfortable room, hot shower, and water dispenser were all welcome. But parking is hard to find, there’s no lift, and the Wi-Fi signal is weak. The room also didn’t include mineral water or soap or shower gel, despite the price.
The hotel is close to a pub, so loud noise carries on every night from 22:30 to 02:30. If someone in a nearby room smokes, the cigarette smell gets into your room whether the windows, doors, or exhaust fan are open or closed.
We were a family of four in a larger room at this ordinary budget inn. It was reasonably clean and, overall, still okay. The old AC didn’t cool well, there were lots of little flies in the toilet and mosquitoes in the room. It was also quite noisy, probably from a nearby karaoke place, though I was still okay with that.
I refused to pay for the same room twice and left, but the staff were rude and reported me to the booking portal as a no-show. Now I still have to pay the cancellation fee. I’ll report them to the police; they can’t behave like this. I had a reservation, but when I arrived they demanded another USD10 and said I couldn’t check in without paying. They were almost impossible to talk to because they knew only a few words of English. It was a terrible, rude experience.
