Texas Inn

The rooms are clean and the price is budget friendly, though there isn't a nice view. At check-in, my first room smelled of cigarettes and its security lock was broken, so I didn't feel safe. I intercomed Daniel at reception, and he came quickly, checked it out and moved me to another room. That one was very clean with no cigarette smell at all. The next day, housekeeping brought me a hair dryer within a few minutes. The service was superb, and I'd definitely book here again if I return. Strongly recommended. Please keep up this service.

Cafe Cafe is right downstairs, which is even better. I've stayed here seven or eight times, I think, and the environment and location are good.

The hotel is tucked down a lane facing a car repair workshop, so I didn't hear traffic. In the nearby lane there's a Chinese noodle stall on the left and another spot on the right that locals often go to. A shopping centre, bakery and local coffee shops are all within walking distance, and the coffee shops get plenty of local customers. I booked this 3 star place after reading reviews on booking.com. It was a decent, comfortable and safe stay, with friendly staff. A few of them were Iban people and understood basic English. The bed was clean and the aircon worked well, though the noise could bother light sleepers.

The place was nice and clean, with reasonable prices and good service. I gave it 3 stars because another guest smoked in their room while I was staying there, and the smell spread along the floor and reached my room. When I reported that my room smelled of smoke, the staff acted quickly to check and sprayed the room. Without the smoke issue, I would have given 4 stars.
