The rooms are clean and tidy, and the price is reasonable. I’ve stayed a few times already. A good choice for new travellers.
The staff were friendly and the service was great, and the location is the main selling point. It’s one of the cheaper places in town, though the hotel interior feels dated. The rooms need a deep clean: I moved the TV cabinet to reach the socket and found thick, caked-on dust behind it. The corridor has a funky smell, like the mattresses have absorbed sweat and cigarette smoke. No towels were provided. My bed was fine, but my colleague said she could feel the springs in hers. The water heater was temperamental. The building has a lot of potential, and a water dispenser would be a small upgrade.
The room was roomy for the price, with a clean floor, a good shower with strong water pressure, and air conditioning that worked well. Wi-Fi was fine too. I stayed two nights with relatives, and we were very happy with the room. The hotel staff were friendly, which made for a pleasant stay.
The rooms are wide and comfortable, prices are cheap, and the service is good. The hotel is also the closest one to the Sri Aman's 2 birds monument. KFC is right beside the road, and halal restaurants are nearby. Don’t miss the roti canai at Azreen Cafe, it tastes superb.
This place feels comfortable and homey, with ordinary furnishings rather than anything fancy. The room is very spacious and has a regular-sized fridge. The family suite has one king bed and one single, so it suits 3 adults, and costs RM 123 per night. If you book through Agoda, some of the listing details may need correcting. There’s no lift, though the building, which used to be a movie theatre, has only one floor. Sri Aman, also called Simanggang, is known for the benak, or tidal bore. I was told you can see it around 2-3 pm, but during the May king tide, when there’s a benak festival, the area gets packed. I also heard the waves can sound pretty terrifying and that crocodiles usually follow the big waves. If you’re there, visit Fort Alice to learn about the rajahs’ rule.
