Green Hotel

The deluxe king room was on the small side, but clean, with a toilet and hot shower. Nothing smelled bad or seemed odd, and the receptionist was friendly, so it was a pleasant stay. There are plenty of grocery shops and places to eat nearby.

The staff apologized when I called, but couldn’t fix things. They offered to move us upstairs, but it was already 1 am and we were exhausted. Other guests kept slamming doors and banging on the wall, and there was loud water running in my room for about two hours. I don’t know why. People in the corridor also slammed doors and shouted, and an alarm kept going off because they left a door open. We couldn’t sleep until 1:30 am. It was an absolute nightmare of a night. If you need rest, forget this hotel. Sleeping on the street would have been quieter.

The walls are thin, so noise carries. I could hear the next room’s alarm clock, and raised voices came through clearly around the staircase. The room was clean and well kept, with an ironing board outside for guests. There was no bottled water in the room, but the common hall had water, plus a jug and glasses. The location is very convenient, right in town and walkable to a convenience store, restaurants, a laundromat (dobi), and cafes. There are connecting doors, and free parking on a first-come, first-served basis.

We booked the family suite for RM128, with one queen bed and one single. Our room was B18. Check-in was after 2.30 PM and checkout at 12 PM. No durian or smoking in the room. The ground-floor rooms, including ours, had no windows, so ask for an upstairs room if you want one. We also found the long mirror in the bedroom weird, so you may want to request a different room. I checked the mirror and its bolt, and they seemed okay, but it felt odd having it in front of the shower. The hotel is in town, so shops and food are an easy walk away. Service was good, and for a one-night stay it was a good place. You can call to book; they’ll contact you a day before check-in to arrange payment and confirm, and QR payment is available at the hotel. There’s a water filter at reception for filling the jug with hot or cold water. The bedroom was small and a bit tight for praying. The walls were thin, so we heard the TV in other rooms and people walking and chatting outside. There was only one power socket, and no bedroom mirror. On the plus side, the bedsheets, mattress, pillows, and body and face towels were clean. There were six pillows, two per person, a TV with basic channels and radio, a jug, three plastic mugs, a tray, and a small packet of tissues. The air conditioning was cold. The bathroom was spacious, with body wash, shampoo, a water heater, good pressure, and a working flush. It came with two small tissue packets. There were some stubborn floor stains, and the shower splashed water around. The sink tap was crooked, and its mirror hadn’t been wiped properly.
