There’s free parking, and halal restaurants right inside the villa. The view was good and there were lots of photo spots, so it made for a nice staycation. The hotel feels a bit old, but it was okay. Since it’s next to the paddy fields, there were more mosquitoes around. Bring your own repellent, especially at night. Also keep an eye on your belongings: the room door only locks with a key, the gate is open, and there’s no access card to get into the building.

There was plenty of nice scenery around the hotel for photos, and we had a view of the neighbouring paddy fields this time. On our next visit to Sekinchan, we’d ask for a poolside paddy view. We stayed at Villa Chee in late Dec 2025 on our first visit, and the experience was pretty average. The room and bathroom were very clean, with nice marble-style floors, and the shower and toilet were well maintained. Service was a mixed bag. They couldn’t help with extra toiletries or an extra bed, but the front desk got us more towels and housekeeping brought them over quickly. It’d be good if they offered breakfast or à la carte meals, especially in peak season given the location. Room prices also felt inconsistent and unclear, even when booking through the website.

There’s lots to keep the kids busy without going out, and my small family and I really enjoyed our stay. There’s a playground, a pool with a fun slide, an arcade, mini karaoke boxes, and bicycle rides. Just be ready to spend some $$ for the family to enjoy it all. The pool could be cleaned better. My son has sensitive skin and couldn’t enjoy swimming there. Also, many arcade machines were under maintenance, so there wasn’t much choice, and one machine even swallowed our 2 coins.

The paddy fields behind the villa made an awesome backdrop for photos. We had a balcony on the upper floor and really enjoyed our one-night stay. At night, though, we found some bugs in the bedroom. We hadn’t opened the balcony sliding door, so we’re not sure how they got in. Probably best to bring insect and mosquito repellent just in case.

Villa Chee has a no-alcohol and no-pork/lard rule, but there was no mention of it on the Booking.com listing or in the booking confirmation. The front desk didn’t tell us at check-in either. We only found out when we saw signs inside the property. Guests should be told about important house rules before they book. That lack of transparency felt unacceptable and misleading. The claim that this is a 5-star hotel is misleading too, because it definitely isn’t one.
