Sg Pelek Hotel

The room was clean and peaceful, with a window looking out over a glimpse of Sungai Pelek town. The hotel is budget-friendly, and there are Indian restaurants, a night burger stall, and Indian convenience stores nearby. Most shops close early, so get dinner and anything you need before 10pm. My single room didn’t come with a dental kit or shampoo. The toilet seat placement was a little uncomfortable, but manageable for a morning visit. Grab cars are hard to find around there, especially after 7pm. The receptionists were friendly and helpful. The Indian lady with a beautiful smile helped me with the admin and showed me how to get to the airport on the free Selangor bus. A good budget hotel to keep in mind.

I was happy with the product we ordered at this hotel, and the parcel arrived in perfect condition. The products were excellent quality. Collecting the order was easy and convenient from booking through pickup. The location was clearly marked and easy to find, and the staff were helpful and efficient. I liked being able to pick it up whenever it suited me. A great experience!

I wouldn’t recommend collecting parcels here. The staff member was extremely rude and unprofessional. I first came to pick up my parcel this evening and was told to return later. Instead of explaining politely, the staff member, an Indian lady, just pointed to an A4 sheet by the entrance. I left and came back an hour later. It was my first time using a Shopee self-collection point, so I didn’t know how the PIN worked. When I accidentally gave the wrong number, she scolded me, told me not to come back for parcels, and said this while still on the phone with her boyfriend. The way she acted made it seem like treating customers rudely was normal to her, and I suspect this isn’t the first time she’s done it. I understand these collection points can get busy, but customers still deserve basic respect and patience. Nobody is forcing the hotel to offer Shopee self-collection, and as a staff member rather than the owner, she has no right to ban someone over one wrong PIN. This was my first Shopee collection experience, and it was awful because of the poor service and her attitude. Definitely not recommended.

The hotel is right by the main road in Sungai Pelek, close to Bagan Lalang beach. The rooms are clean, though a little small, and it’s easy to find restaurants nearby.
