Hotel Taiping Perdana

The air conditioner quit at 1:40am on our third night, and the only offer was a twin room even though I'd booked a Queen. Staff said nothing else was available, with no apology, proper solution, or compensation. After four nights here, I was already disappointed by the poor room condition and the strong toilet smell, with a brown, dirty bowl. Staff should be taught to handle problems with more professionalism and empathy. I wouldn't recommend this hotel.

23/8/2025. Check-in at 4 pm was quick, and we were given rooms 506/507. I'd booked a Superior Queen and a Superior Twin connecting room, so my family and I were happy at first, but the rooms weren't connected. I went back to reception, where staff apologized and said we'd have to wait an hour for the right room. We stayed in the lobby; after 40 minutes, they brought the correct key and apologized again. The hotel should record the booked room types, numbers, and floors properly in its logbook, so guests can get the right keys at check-in. In my case, they only started looking for available rooms after I arrived, which led to confusion and a room assignment mistake.

If you're only coming to sleep, it may be okay. The room wasn't ready at 4pm, and breakfast was meant to start at 7am, but the cafe was still dark at 7:10 with people waiting and no sign of it opening. The room itself was like a standard 2-3 star hotel, and didn't feel very clean or well maintained. I'd look for somewhere else for anything beyond a place to sleep.

I came for Iftar with a colleague. The buffet had a good range of food, and the price was reasonable.
