TT Dorf Hotel (Taiping)

The place is newly renovated, bright, and everything works. Staff are friendly and parking is free. There's no fridge in the room, and the only ironing board is in the lobby, which is inconvenient. Still, the low price will bring me back.

I had a really good experience before, and the staff were professional then. This time, though, the staff were very unprofessional. When I asked for an extra comforter, one of them pulled a face and turned to a colleague to say, "There isn't an extra, right?" They could've just told me, "Sorry, we don't have an extra at the moment." If you work in customer service, you need to learn how to handle requests better. The hotel could also put a kiblat direction sticker in the room and provide an iron on each floor. Having just one iron in the lobby is very inconvenient.

The room was very dusty, and the toilet was a bit dirty with a misfit toilet bowl. Around 2-4am, there was a really bad smell coming from the nearby sewage.

The room had useful basics like soap, shampoo, a water heater, hair dryer, TV, an outlet beside the bed and air conditioning. My room's bed and bathroom were clean, the price was affordable, and the staff were good. Having a mini market right beside the hotel was handy since my room didn't include complimentary drinking water, so I could go down and buy what I needed. The air conditioning was partly blocked by the baggage rack, so it took a while for the room to cool down. They also didn't provide room service, possibly because of the covid 19 pendemic. Parking is limited, maybe only 6-7 cars fit in front of the hotel. When it was full, I had to block part of the corner road, then move my car in the morning. Motorcycles on the main road outside can also be noisy, though it only happens sometimes.
