The price is okay, but there’s plenty to improve. Please clean the toilet, there was mold in several places 🙃. My body got itchy, and the pillows smelled bad. Change the sheets, blanket, and pillows before the next guests check in.

The location is good, and the beds are comfortable, with a small locker, power socket, and light at each one. Laptops won’t fit in the security locker. Breakfast is free, just toast with butter and marmalade. The new hostel looks good, but the bathroom setup is poor: there’s only one toilet and shower for about eight six-person dorms, or 48 guests, and the bathroom itself is uncomfortable and in bad condition. I found a bed bug on my pillow and another on the wall, so I can confirm the other review mentioning them. Staff sprayed straight away and changed the sheets after I reported it. I chose to move to another hostel. Bed bugs can happen anywhere, but with the bathroom improved and more bathrooms added, I’d give this four stars. For now, it’s two, mainly because of the bathroom.

The receptionist kindly let me stay a couple of hours past checkout for my hiking plans. Breakfast was free, just toast and jam, and tea and coffee were available all day. It’s a pretty basic backpacker hostel. There wasn’t a curtain around the bed like at some other hostels, so there was less privacy.

Our planned three nights quickly turned into two. The dorms were small and the bathrooms average, and the general atmosphere felt odd and not especially welcoming. Three or four staff members had limited English or didn’t seem keen to help. One man, who seemed to think he was the owner but definitely wasn’t, was the exception in terms of engaging with us, but he came across as abrupt, arrogant, and patronising. I’m sure he meant well, but it didn’t come across that way.
