My stay at this hotel was a nightmare. There was no electricity in the room, including the switch and heater. I called reception many times, and they said there was an electrical fault. They told me I could use the washroom outside the room, so I ended up sharing one even though I'd paid for a private bathroom. Reception was always empty, with nobody sitting there, and I wasted time trying to reach them about the fault. I was desperate to get through the stay. The customer service was completely out. I checked out early, around 7am, but there was nobody at reception when I wanted to hand in the key. A notice said to leave it in a basket. It felt totally unsafe; if there had been an emergency, no one would have been there to help. I'm done with this hotel. Agoda said there was wifi, but there was none. NO MORE RASA SAYANG HOTEL AFTER THIS!

We spent most days by the pool, and the pool boys were great and attentive to what we needed. At the spice gardens, we ate every night. The food was super, and when we asked for a few different meals, the lovely chefs were happy to make them. We had lots of laughs and little chats with the restaurant staff, who made dinner enjoyable. We stayed in the rasa wing for 3 weeks, and what a delight it was. The room attendant was great, and anything we asked for was taken care of straight away. This was another fantastic three weeks at the Rasa Penang. It feels like a home away from home, and this year we're staying three times. Well done Rasa Sayang, see you all in July. Robyn bradbery.

The room was nice, and it stays cool and chilly even without a fan or air conditioning, so you won't get hot 🌬. Bring a power strip if you have lots of devices, though. The room with one queen bed has just one plug, and I'm not sure about the other rooms.

This is a lodge or hostel, not a hotel. There was no reception, and I wouldn't recommend it for families. Bachelors and students could use it as a cheap hostel, with double-decker beds. I cancelled on the spot after seeing the place. It's nonsense to include a shoplot like this among hotels.

The room was quite spacious and comfortable, even though it was for two. Just be prepared to climb two storeys of stairs to get to the room.
