We could choose our rooms, and the staff were very friendly. Breakfast was good, with a choice of different food and drinks. It’s only a few minutes’ walk to shops, restaurants, the night market, the bus terminal, and the Hindu Tempel. There’s also cheap, fast laundry service. We went on an incredible tour with Velu and learned a lot about the culture and people, history, plants, fruit, vegetables, and tea. He took us to a place where I ate the best scones of my life! Thanks for that and for the whole stay. If you want somewhere cheap, nice, quiet, clean, and central, this is the place. Highly recommended.

Shops are an easy walk away, yet the place stays peaceful and quiet. It was clean and a nice place to stay. There’s no lift, but it was manageable.

The pictures on Google gave a very different impression, which was disappointing. Our stay also took a lot of time and energy out of the trip. After driving all day, we were put on the third floor, and there’s no lift. The toilet light in that room didn’t work, so I went downstairs to report it and then had to go back up and wait. Staff said they’d replace the bulb, but I asked to move rooms instead because I was already exhausted and didn’t want more trips up and down. The replacement was on the ground floor, but it was very old, with worn sheets, an old TV, a small stand fan instead of a ceiling fan, and a broken water heater. I had to complain again before we finally got a room on the second floor. I was also surprised to be told to leave our shoes downstairs. We put them in our own plastic bag and carried them with us 😅

The staff were polite and helpful at check-in and during our stay, and the quiet surroundings made it a relaxing place to come back to. Hillview Inn is close to Tanah Rata town, restaurants, and nearby attractions, so getting around Cameron Highlands was easy. Our room was simple, clean, and roomy enough for a short visit. The bed was comfortable in the cool Cameron weather, and the basic amenities were there. The building shows some age and the facilities are basic, but things were maintained. It’s a good-value, affordable place to stay while exploring the area.

The staff were helpful, and breakfast was good. A nice place to stay in Tanah Rata. They cleaned the rooms each day and brought fresh towels and water.
