The main problem was the host, Little Cabin. Before check-in I asked about early arrival, parking, and key collection, but got no answers. When I arrived, I texted and called, and nobody replied until around 4.20pm, even though check-in was meant to be at 4pm. I was honestly worried it was a scam. They were very slow to respond, didn't answer calls, and never followed up after checkout. It seemed like customer service just wasn't a concern. I'd choose another host. The facilities were okay, the lifts worked well, the pool was clean, and there are malls and restaurants nearby. The security guards were helpful too. Our Level 23 unit was spacious, with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, but a bit run down. One bathroom's water heater didn't work, and the washing machine was unreliable. If you're not too fussy, I guess the unit is okay.
We ended up leaving after less than an hour and finding somewhere else to stay. We called customer service at 7pm, but couldn't reach anyone until the next morning. They offered a different unit the next day, but that didn't address what we'd already been put through. When we asked for a refund, they refused. We complained through Booking.com, and after an investigation got less than 10% of the total stay amount as credit from Booking.com, not a refund from the property. It was pathetic. I've never had a worse stay through an accommodation platform. Think carefully before booking through Little Cabin. The Booking.com photos were nowhere near the unit we were assigned. Our assigned unit was A-6-2, managed by Little Cabin. Their WhatsApp replies had been good until we arrived and saw the place. It was shockingly run down. In the living area, wallpaper was peeling, the floor was very dirty, there was a musty smell, and some chairs had holes. A crack ran across the main glass TV feature wall beside the air conditioner, and the TV remote didn't work. There were three bedrooms. One had no door and contained a single bed and a bunk bed without blankets. The sheets and pillows in all the rooms were greyish and stained, with fine hairs on them. In the master bedroom, some parquet tiles were coming loose, and they'd covered them with a carpet. The unit was in very poor condition, and this was the worst experience we've had on Booking.com.
We enjoyed our stay, and getting in was easy. The apartment is conveniently located, with a spectacular view from the room. The kitchen was well equipped, and the rooms and beds were clean. I could see the place had some wear and tear, but I was excited to have a washing machine for laundry. The TV wasn't much use. There were no local channels, and YouTube was hard to navigate because of memory issues.
The staff are attentive, friendly, and professional, and the food and drinks are high quality. Landmark by Katana has a great view and a lively atmosphere, with modern design and comfortable details. Whether you're stopping in for coffee, having dinner, or enjoying the nightlife, it's a great experience. Definitely worth visiting if you're in town.
The building has a nice pool and a well equipped gym. Georgetown centre and Batu Ferringhi beach are both about a 15-minute drive away. Well recommended.
