Blu Sentral Hotel

Shops and restaurants are conveniently close. We were happy with this hotel on our first visit to Tawau. Malaysian hotels can be worn and basic, but this one was clean, smelled new, and seemed recently renovated. Our executive king suite had a mini refrigerator, safe, hair dryer, and walk-in shower. They don't have ice or conditioner, and parking is limited.

My parents stayed at this new hotel during the big “mati karan” in Tawau. Luckily, it had a backup generator, so the lights and electricity weren't interrupted. Their room was quite spacious and had a balcony. It's in the shop lots, with parking in front, and several good restaurants are within walking distance.

There are plenty of eateries and convenience stores nearby, and the location is excellent. I found the staff very friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The room was clean and comfortable, and the pillows were so comfy that I slept wonderfully. It was spacious, with modern bathroom features. They also provided slippers, toiletries, an electric kettle, and a selection of coffee and tea.

During Sep 2025, Sabah had a major power failure after a transmission line broke amid landslides in bad weather. This hotel had a GenSet, so it kept full air conditioning and water supply through the blackout in Tawau, which lasted at least 7 hours. Without it, I would still have been outside in the dark waiting. The spacious bedroom had a good quality bed, a heavy, cozy comforter, and strong water pressure, and the reception staff were attentive. I'd consider it the best hotel standard in Tawau town. Keep up the good work.
