Villea Port Dickson

The breakfast buffet had a good range of tasty food, and we appreciated the warm hospitality throughout our stay at Villea Port Dickson last weekend. We were there to celebrate our daughter's birthday, and the thoughtful room decorations made her day feel extra special. The lovely surroundings and beach view added to a really pleasant family stay. The location is quite far in, but peaceful. I noticed people heading up the hill beside the hotel with mats and trekking sticks. I'd like to return for some relaxing time, trekking, or team building with coworkers or family. We stayed in the villa for just one night and were happy with the service, room, and food. Breakfast and dinner were simple but delicious, especially the soft roti prata with curry. Our three-bedroom family room had a huge master bedroom and bathroom. Water started dripping from the air conditioner in that bedroom, but staff came quickly to fix it. Thank you.

We made great family memories here. The spacious, clean three-bedroom place had a nice view, and the pool and beach were the best spots. The buffet breakfast gets two thumbs up.

The hotel called to apologise and offer a discount for a future visit. We'll see, I suppose. We had booked a mini three-bedroom apartment with a door straight out to the pool. The family-friendly pool suited kids, and the hotel is small enough that getting from the room to the restaurant, pool, or beach didn't mean a long walk. It's tucked into a jungle nook, and the crescent-shaped beach was lovely, with soft fine sand and fairly clear, shallow water for a long way. The room condition was awful. The sliding pool door was stuck, and the faux wood floor tiles were sticky, warped, and peeling at the edges, creating trip hazards and splinters if you went barefoot. All the bedroom walls had some degree of mould and peeling wallpaper. It felt like a health hazard. I couldn't tell whether they hadn't cleaned in so long that nobody noticed the mould, or had seen it and still considered the room okay to rent. Several public walkways smelled horribly of sewage or farts. The beach outside was covered in a lot of litter. It may be public, but you'd think the hotel would tidy the area right outside its gate to make a better impression. Breakfast was mediocre, with a much smaller selection than at similar resorts. The noodles were overcooked, the cordial juice tasted very artificial, and the cucumber in the salad bar was covered in fruit gnats. For what we paid, I'm quite disappointed.
