Tioman Dive Resort

I took a snorkeling tour and it was absolutely worth it: clear water, colorful reefs, and lots of marine life. The diving center was excellent too, with professional instructors and great equipment whether you’re new to diving or already certified. The staff were super friendly and always ready to help or share tips about the island. There’s a good choice of stays, from clean, comfortable dorms for backpackers to cozy private rooms when you want more privacy. Everything felt well maintained and thoughtfully arranged, down to the small details. The resort is right by the beach, surrounded by lush nature, with a peaceful feel that made it easy to switch off. I spent a few amazing days at Tioman Dive Resort and honestly didn’t want to leave. If you want both adventure and time to relax in an island setting, I’d definitely come back.

I didn’t stay here, but I did a scuba refresher and one dive, and both were amazing. The instructors and dive masters were professional, and the dive itself was great. We saw a black tip shark. It was also a nice place to sit with a cold drink and watch the sunset.

The volunteers at the bar were the only people who were kind and helpful. The bar is also where you can get a sea view, but it gets packed in the evening and stays loud late into the night. We stayed two nights. The room was roomy and had good equipment, though we did find ants in the bathroom. This place seems geared toward divers and is constantly full of them. It may work well if diving is your reason for coming, but I wouldn't suggest it for families with young children or anyone after a quiet, relaxing break. A diving instructor was rude when my child playfully put her feet in the pool. If the pool is only for divers, there should be a sign. We missed our 3pm ferry because we could only get there by 2:10pm. The hotel didn't try to arrange a ride to the nearby jetty, although other people who had missed the same ferry managed to get there. I wouldn't recommend this place for families.

I had a great time diving here during my three nights. The rooms were really nice and the beds comfortable, and most of the staff were friendly. The bar had a good backpacker vibe, though evenings were often noisy, so it's not ideal if you want complete quiet.
