Bayu Tioman Chalet

We came twice this year, first in June and then again in August with more family. The rooms are very basic, which was fine, and there’s Wi-Fi. It’s peaceful all around, with hammocks everywhere where you can relax and watch the sunset. Gua Gelamin is about a 20-minute walk away. The hospitality is five-star. Whenever staff saw us, they checked if everything was okay, and their arrangements were clear, so we weren’t left wondering what to do or where to go. The food was fine too, even a simple telur dadar was sedap. Our snorkeling trip was tiring but brilliant. We left around 10am and got back at 5pm, visiting lovely spots where we saw sharks, a turtle, and lots of fish. They even told us where to go around Tulai Island to look for more sharks. At Rengis, one boatman got into the water himself to find a turtle and show us. You can tell they’re sincere about their work when they want you to be satisfied and happy throughout. On our second visit we hired a private boat and got a discount. The whole trip was unforgettable for all of us, and even the moto ride there and back was fun, like a roller coaster. A couple of tips: bring mosquito repellent and mosquito coils, and check your snorkeling gear before going because they don’t have spares on the boat. One thing the resort could improve is the packed lunch menu. Maybe choose food that still tastes good cold, since the fried fish gets hard and the ayam masak merah does too. All in all, terbaik!
