Hotel Tivoli Beira

The staff were lovely, and my overall stay was satisfactory, in line with my score. The bedrooms felt very tight and should be bigger. The restaurant menu was poor, with very few choices and very high prices. I ate there on my first night, but went to a different restaurant the second night because of the limited options and cost.

The food was good and the staff were lovely. The bedrooms were nice too. The downside is the central location, with noise that meant you had to wake early. There’s a mosque nearby. I think they should offer more choices on the menu.

The location was good and the service warm, with good customer relations. Breakfast provided at the hotel was good too. I had some trouble getting online. It seemed the Wi-Fi wasn’t connected, though I didn’t complain since I spent most of my time working outside the hotel. They should also make more TV packages available, with more national channels or 50% of them.

The rooms are very nice, but the bathrooms can be hard to use. Opening the door takes some acrobatics, and sometimes they weren’t cleaned properly. I also had to tell the lobby staff whenever I wanted to go to my room because I wasn’t allowed to have a key. The hotel doesn’t handle even basic guest needs well, though I understand the country is going through tough times. The restaurant is expensive and service takes an incredibly long time, although that seems to be a national trend. Free Wi-Fi was unstable and insufficient, a reminder that nothing is truly free. The restaurant staff deserve all the praise, though. They’re amazing, always in good spirits and sincerely willing to help.
