Nhambavale Lodge

We were welcomed warmly and enjoyed the place until 7 p.m., when a party started in a nearby cottage. The music was blaring and karaoke microphones went on until 4 a.m., with shouting and no consideration for the other campers. Other guests may have been inconsiderate, but it was worse that you didn't step in. My husband, our two children, and I had seven hours of driving ahead of us today to get back to South Africa. We travel often, but had never felt so disregarded, and none of us slept. We paid for a night without rest, and would have left if our insurance had let us drive at night. Before posting this, I emailed you and got no reply, which was disappointing too. We were extremely disappointed by our night there.

Spent a really relaxing week there and totally loved it. It's a place I'd recommend to nature and bird lovers, fishermen, and anyone who enjoys water skiing or paddling. They also have an excellent fishing charter.

We only stayed a night, which was a shame. The campsite was beautifully arranged by the lake, with a lovely view, very clean facilities, electricity and a barbecue area at every pitch, and everything a camper could want. We enjoyed a sundowner at the lakeside bar as the sunset was fantastic. The people were friendly and helpful, and although we were the only ones there, there were several activities available. Fishing is great in the lake or the sea. It felt like a real paradise, and even the fun drive in was part of the experience, though you do need a 4x4. I hope Mozambique gets more tourists again.

The location right by the lake is just amazing, and the food was great. Such a hidden gem off the beaten track, really peaceful and relaxing.
