For a small town, the quality here is pretty good. I wasn't impressed by how unfriendly the front desk felt, and dinner at the restaurant wasn't friendly either. I was surprised to find I liked Maputo and its people so much more than Inhambane generally. You could probably skip it.

The staff are very friendly, and it’s lovely to have a drink at the bar or coffee out on the terrace. The surroundings are beautiful for relaxing, and the bay view from the rooms and restaurant is amazing. The internet only worked now and then during my two days there. The pool is in a fantastic spot, but it looked really bad, green, with no view of the bottom, so I decided not to swim.

Breakfast was good, and the views were fantastic.

We had a large room with a balcony and a stunning view, the same view shared by the rooms and common areas. The hotel’s architecture is beautiful, and the location is privileged, so I can still recommend it. I stayed three nights in June, while the hotel was still being rebuilt after February’s hurricane Dineo. Several rooms and common areas were still under repair, which made it hard to judge the hotel at full service. There were some issues with the bar and restaurant service, and breakfast was limited but good; I can’t tell whether the recovery work was behind that. The bigger problem was mosquitoes. There were several in the room, and there were no protective nets around the beds. One window lock was faulty and probably let them in, so hunting mosquitoes became a sport. Nets would have helped.
