Don't eat here. The food was awful and nothing like the menu photos or descriptions. It all came cold and tasted as if it had been fried and coated in salt to hide the lack of ingredients and cooking skill. The hotel and restaurant are 90% empty, and it's easy to see why.

It's a very large hotel, with so many rooms that it's easy to get lost. For the price, the look is quite standard. The service is good, though, and the hotel sits in a lovely area facing the ocean.

The ocean view is great, just across the road. Inside, there's an eastern restaurant, Chinese, in one wing and a western one in the other. The place feels nice and premium, and the staff are very friendly. Portuguese is spoken most of the time, with some English, so the language barrier can keep you from fully enjoying the place. I had a really great time.

If being near the bay is your priority, the location really works, and there’s a mall on the property plus other hotels, scenic restaurants, and bars just a short walk away. It’s also quiet. The accommodation is a good standard for the price, but service isn’t at the level you’d expect from a five-star hotel, even if they seem to try. There isn’t much beyond a place to stay, so you’ll probably need to go out for more food variety. Calling it a five-star hotel would be a stretch.

Inside, the practical decor takes away some of the luxury the exterior seems to promise, though the large, open spaces make for a cool place to relax. I was pleasantly surprised by how friendly and helpful the local staff were. The building dominates the area and feels like a little village, with a mall beside it. It’s a slightly odd place to drop in for a drink.
