The squid strogonoff I ordered was nice, and the menu has a Portuguese feel with a particular focus on strogonoff, including squid, shrimp, beef, and chicken. It works well for straightforward Portuguese dishes, though not for more specialized food. I had lunch on a Sunday afternoon. The covered, open-air setting was comfortable, but I imagine it gets uncomfortable in very hot weather. Service was quick and friendly, and the welcome was nice. One drawback for me was that people smoke in the partly open space, so the smell can be bothersome if you don’t like it.

I can’t comment on the guest house, but I’ve eaten here several times and the food has always been very good. It’s one of Maputo’s best places to eat, in my opinion, and not as pricey as most high-end restaurants nearby. The starters are usually good too. For a main, I’d go for the Pataniscas de bacalhau com arroz de feijão (cod fish cakes served with beans rice) or steak with mustard sauce.

The place is central, near restaurants and the beach, and the accommodation was great. I loved staying here. The food was excellent, especially the Portuguese food and desserts, which I thought were the best in Maputo.

Really good service around the clock, good WiFi, and everything was nice and clean. You get the full package for a good price. It’s within walking distance of everything you need. I’d stay here again. SUPER.
