VIP Executive Suites Maputo Hotel

Some of my things went missing, a water flosser and a La Roch Posey face wash. I suspect the night guard may have found a way around the key cards. Don’t leave valuables there. Honestly, you may be better off staying somewhere else.

There’s no Wi-Fi, but I’d still recommend this place again and again, especially for families. The location is scenic and practical, with the beach and city centre only a short drive away. The rooms were great and kept very clean, and the service was excellent. They even let me check out early since I had to leave very early.

I love staying here. The hotel has a nice atmosphere and location, and everything works perfectly. Some receptionists and other staff, though, aren’t friendly. A few speak to us as if they’re doing us a favor or are above us, and they don’t help with bags or open the door for guests. That’s only some of them, definitely not everyone. I can share names if needed. It would help to have two or three phone numbers where guests can call to complain or offer compliments about the hotel staff. I enjoyed my 10-day stay in October and would come back. The hotel is conveniently placed for getting around central Maputo, though traffic is gridlocked around 5-6pm, so avoid driving then. The private car park has attendants around the clock. My one-bedroom apartment had a living room with a sofa and table, free Wi-Fi that worked well, and a big TV with limited channels. Curtains with blackout panels helped since it gets light at 5am. The double bed was super comfortable, with lovely bedding and a very thick mattress. The place was well furnished with cutlery and crockery. Towels were changed and beds made every day. Cristina at reception and her colleagues were polite and courteous. When our freezer stopped working, they swapped it straight away. Dulce, our regular housekeeper, was friendly, as was Silvia, and the manager was friendly on the days he was there. By European hotel standards, it deserves its four-star rating.
