The room was the worst part of our stay. It looked like it had been left unused and unprepared, with grime and dried stains on the bathroom floor and shower. There was one set of supposedly clean towels, but we were too uneasy to use them. We also found large dead roaches, apparently killed by some pesticide, and heard live ones, or something worse, moving in the skirting at night. Several advertised amenities were missing; we were told the free Wi-Fi had been down for months. We’d paid for breakfast for both days, but couldn’t bring ourselves to eat there. I can only imagine what the kitchen was like. At check-in, the receptionist’s attitude and lack of professionalism also made us feel unwelcome. They tried to get extra money from us because our booking confirmation showed the price in ZAR rather than local MZN.

I booked a hotel online on the 4th, then tried reaching them by WhatsApp and email. Not a single reply, even after all my messages. Honestly, the service is painfully slow and no use at all. 109% useless.

At R600 a night, I expected it to feel more like a hotel. Instead it had a creepy motel atmosphere, like some crazy person might be waiting to kill you while you shower. It could also be a bit cleaner for that price.
