The hotel is decent, but the state of the pool really affects the stay. The beachside pool looked abandoned, with yellowish water that seemed unhygienic and like a place mosquitoes could breed. Management needs to deal with it urgently.

It's very peaceful, with a lovely sunrise view over Pemba Bay. The beachside setting and large grounds are great for walks and exercise, and the staff are really friendly. The rooms are comfortable, though a bit dated. Bring an adaptor for South African 15A sockets if your phone plug is from another country.

I waited an hour for one plate of pasta Alfredo, and it still came undercooked. I still can't figure out how anyone manages to mess up pasta.

The sea views are lovely, and there's enough space around the hotel to go for walks. It works well for a business trip or a holiday. My room was clean apart from the dirty carpet, which I think they should vacuum instead of sweep.

The place was quiet and peaceful, and the rooms are a good size, comfortable and equipped with what you need, even if the decor feels dated. The food was adequate, though nothing special. Staff were friendly, but room service was very slow: meals could take up to two hours, so a 7 am breakfast order might arrive at 9. My room needed maintenance too, with broken bathroom fittings and bulbs that didn’t work. There’s no hot water, so don’t count on taking a hot bath.
