DEVOCEAN Eco Resort

I really enjoyed my four nights here. My ensuite tent was a good choice, with a clean, spacious bathroom and a thoughtful custom bag of toiletries. Breakfast had a nice selection and set me up for a day of adventures. The location is ideal, within walking distance of the beach, restaurants, bars, buses, and dive operators, but away from the main road. Sean was an excellent host, answering questions promptly about who, how, what, and where. Recommended.

I was trying to sort out room arrangements and payment for a group booking, and contacted DEVOCEAN Lodge twice. The first time, I asked about the rooms on the WA line and was told to go read about them on the website. The second time, Booking.com said the property would handle payment, so I wanted to understand when payment would be due before confirming anything. I didn't even have a confirmation number yet, but Sean kept sending me back to Booking.com instead of explaining it. The replies felt dismissive and defensive, and the conversation turned personal and confrontational for no good reason. Asking basic questions as a prospective guest shouldn't make you feel like you're unwelcome or being a nuisance. It was a really disappointing and unprofessional experience, especially given the reviews praising the friendly staff. I'd advise anyone arranging a group stay to be cautious. I wasn't sure what to expect since I'd never slept in a tent before, but these were in good shape and had electricity and a big fan. The communal bathrooms were fine too, kept neat and clean. I liked that the lodge sits off the main street, so nights were quieter. Breakfast had lots of choices and was generous, and the owners were great. It was good value for the money, and I'd definitely stay again.

We slept really well for a couple of nights. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom was clean, and the shower pressure was just right. At night, the lighting around the lodge made the place look great, and the tents turned out even better than we expected. The accommodation felt safe, as did the village generally. Breakfast was very good, especially the eggs benedict, and ordering from the staff was easy. The host was relaxed and helpful, with plenty of suggestions for things to do. Thanks to Shawn and the whole team for a restful, enjoyable stay.
