Casa Babi

The meal was a highlight of our stay. Chef Miriam made everything to order, and it was first rate. Their peri peri sauce was the best we had, and breakfast was scrumptious, with homemade jams and chocolate spread worth trying. The wine list was thoughtfully selected and tasty. Rosa's massage is a must, and bird lovers should take Alfredo's birdwatching walk. After we'd left, the team went above and beyond by meeting us at the airport with a GoPro grip we had left in our room three days earlier. The rooms and shared spaces have gorgeous ocean views, and Sabrina and Denis have made Casa Babi feel like a lovely home. The WiFi is island-speed, but enough for the occasional work email, and it helps you settle into Mozambique's relaxed pace instead of spending hours on Netflix. The dive shop is connected and has the same owners. Trips to 2-mile reef or Sao Sabastiao, which requires advanced certification, are possible when there are four divers. We got lucky, but contacting them ahead of time would likely help with coordination. Our guides, Jorge and Armindo, were excellent and made us feel in good hands. We highly recommend considering Casa Babi for a stay in the Vilankulo area.

We loved staying at casa Babi. The food was delicious, with generous breakfasts offering lots of options and tasty three-course dinners. The owners and staff were kind and friendly throughout, and it was very baby-friendly. The hotel and garden are beautiful, with lovely rooms overlooking a stunning stretch of beach.
