The wildlife was incredible, and John was a great driver. We felt right at home, too. The rooms, food, setting, and service were all beyond what we expected. Such a special way to end our trip. Thanks to all the wonderful staff!

The leopard tracking was the highlight. We were lucky enough to see several leopards and a brown hyena. Okonjima Reserve is quiet and close to nature, and the room itself was nice, with a separate living room. But both spaces were cold during our winter stay, with no way to heat them. At night we found lots of tiny flies in the bedsheets. Staff said they were normal once the lights were on, though we hadn't run into that elsewhere. The amenities were pleasant, if a bit dated in places, and the food was good but not exceptional. For close to 1000 EUR per night, we expected a much higher standard. It's a nice place for half that price, especially if leopard tracking is the reason for your stay.

We saw several leopards on our drives, along with other wildlife, which was a lovely bonus. What really stood out, though, was the manager's kindness. We'd prepaid for four people in two rooms, but a family emergency meant one person couldn't come at the last minute. The booking policy clearly said late cancellations weren't refundable, so we expected no compensation. The manager, Leroy, I think, came by and told us they'd refunded the full cost for the fourth person. We were staying two nights, so it was a substantial amount. It was refreshing and much appreciated to see people choose goodwill and do the right thing instead of sticking to the policy. The lodge was beautiful, the food was excellent, and the staff were friendly. Thanks, Okonjima.

The food at lunch and dinner was some of the best we had in Namibia. We also did two guided safaris and the Africat experience, and there are walks you can take. The rooms were great, with a sleeping room and another room with day beds. One warning: those early morning drives in July start out very cold. This was one of the best lodges we stayed in, and an awesome place.

After a week of rushing around Namibia, the peaceful location felt so relaxing. The lodge and rooms are lovely and quite sophisticated, and the service and food were good. We did the leopard tracking and game drive, both great, with sundowners included. Highly recommend!
