Out of Africa Town Lodge

We went away with friends for three days and arrived a little late. The rooms were okay, and breakfast was really nice. But the mattresses were old, hard and uncomfortable, the towels were old, and the showers were dirty. The old shower heads didn’t give enough pressure either. One friend had a bed with springs sticking out through the mattress that poked her. The duvet covers were so worn you could see through the fabric.

The guest area is on the quieter side of the lodge, at the same price or possibly cheaper. The staff were fantastic and super friendly. Breakfast was unbelievably good, worth stopping for on its own.

I’ve enjoyed this place since 2014. It’s beautiful and green, with good food, a pool, friendly customer service, and a big training conference room. The management and staff do great work. I hope they’ll add more variety to the menu, especially for training group meals. A new menu is needed.

The food was terrible, as if the chef is still learning to cook. I’m no master chef, but I can make much better food than the junk served here. The rooms were filthy too. They only straightened the bed linen and didn’t clean the bathroom. Dirt left in the shower, basin and on the toilet seat was still there when I came back. I raised my concerns and disappointment with management, but the room was still just as dirty. They only sprayed air freshener, which didn’t remove the dirt. They also don’t change towels even when you ask. The towels are far too old and have been used for too long.
