Agama Lodge

The poolside view is still on my mind. This was easily the lodge with the best views, and we ended up loving the place enough to want to return. We had a whole house to ourselves, which we hadn't expected, and the food was so good we couldn't get enough. The staff even got up early because we had to leave for deadvlei. We bought a lunch pack and it was the best we've ever had, honestly. Somehow it stayed cold in our hot car for more than five hours. The only drawback was the WiFi, which didn't work during our stay. But we were in Namibia for nature, not to spend time on our phones.

We only had one rushed night at AGAMA LODGE before getting up after less than three hours of sleep to head to the red desert, so I wish we could have stayed longer. The rooftop bed gave us a view of a sky full of unfamiliar constellations, and my sister and I saw the biggest, brightest shooting star we'd ever seen. We then learned that Gibeon, where we were staying, is known as the hometown of meteorites and the famous discovery site of the Gibeon meteorite. I was so moved lying there that I nearly cried. Our room was huge, cozy and peaceful. After the relaxed buffet dinner, we had a long, lovely conversation with the warm managers, Hennie and Tess. The whole team helped us too, including Helinna,Guide Silva,DriverGift. Many thanks to them all. We enjoyed swimming, saw wild boars roaming freely, and watched flocks of kingfishers overhead. After driving from Windhoek over rough desert roads, arriving around 4 p.m. felt like stepping into a hidden paradise. I would gladly recommend AGAMA LODGE to friends and hope to return someday. The day trips were fun, informative, and well organized. Agama even arranged transport for my wife and me from another lodge ( Sossusvlei), so we weren't stranded there. The staff were outstanding, the lodge was beautiful and clean, and the food was unbelievably delicious. Best lodge all around, ten stars from me!

We even had our flat tyres fixed at Agama Lodge. The pool and sunset were beautiful, and the place was lovely in every way. Our room was huge, and for that size it felt cheap. We were also upgraded to Deluxe for free. Helena at reception was welcoming and friendly. The dinner and breakfast buffets were superb, and gardener Silva, waiter Berry, and Angelsia were kind and helpful the whole time.
