Pelican Point Lodge

Pelican Point Lodge feels peaceful and remote, with a kind of quiet luxury that made our stay unforgettable. It would be a romantic, adventurous escape or a special place to celebrate something, and somewhere we’ll talk about long after leaving. There’s wildlife all around without needing to leave the property: thousands of seals nearby, pelicans overhead and flamingos in the lagoon. Meals by chef Zion were lovely, often with fresh seafood, and eating with those wide ocean views was special. We had a candlelit dinner with waves crashing just meters away, and Zion’s bread is to die for. The team, led by Marvin, was attentive without hovering, and the atmosphere felt relaxed and personal. Our room was spacious and warm, with tasteful, thoughtful décor that felt luxurious without being flashy. The big windows framed the ocean so well we could watch seals playing in the surf from bed. The lodge sits in a converted lighthouse at the tip of a remote peninsula, with the Atlantic on one side and Walvis Bay Lagoon on the other. Getting there across salt flats and sand, with flamingos in the distance, felt like an adventure. The location is breathtaking: crashing waves on one side, a calmer lagoon with pelicans, flamingos and seals on the other. At sunrise and sunset the water turns gold and pink, and it really feels like the edge of the earth. Five stars and then some.

The meals, from breakfast through dinner, were delicious, made with fresh ingredients and lovely homemade breads. All the rooms have their own design, decorated with great taste and beautiful wooden furniture. The location is unique and the atmosphere extraordinary. A big thank you to Marvin, Zion, Nicole and Beauty, who were generous and met every need right away with a smile. We enjoyed our time at Pelican Point Lodge so much and hope to return one day. We'd warmly recommend it to anyone looking for a special, unforgettable stay.

Our car got stuck on the way to the lodge, and the staff worked hard to get us out. The new manager, Milton, and the rest of the staff were very kind, and the lodge was clean. Thank you for making such wonderful memories for us. We highly recommend this place and hope to see you all again!

The new team has made the place feel special again, and the lodge has had some much-deserved TLC under its new management. The setting is so unique, the views are amazing and the service was great. Well done.
