The hotel feels rustic, but its location is one of the best in Walvis Bay. The rooms look out over the ocean, and the beaches are very good and clean. Highly recommended.

The hotel and rooms aren't the newest, but I had a really nice experience and the staff were wonderful. I had mistakenly booked a suite without a sea view, then asked if I could get one with a view. They upgraded me to the presidential suite. On my last night they had to move me to another room because the presidential suite was double-booked, and they gave me a fruit basket and a partial refund for the inconvenience.

A really nice, quiet resort with beautiful scenery, and I loved the food. If you want privacy, make sure to pick a room without an interconnecting door.

Want a holiday where you can relax and feel rich without actually being rich? The Pelican is the place. Sure, it's no Taj, but the bill will make you smile, and you'll still have plenty of cash for the bazaars. The folks are pleasant and the food is plentiful, even if it isn't French cuisine. Walvis Bay, who ever heard of it? That's just it. Sailors from all over have been stopping here for centuries, shipping through and grabbing a bite, or having a tuckka. When it's time for a vacation, off to Walvis Bay they go, missus in tow. I'm not kidding, you will feel like a million and save just as much!

I've stayed here before and love how friendly and accommodating everyone is. The staff are excellent and the food superb. Great hotel, highly recommend it, can't say enough good things.
