Very clean facilities and welcoming staff make this an excellent campsite. Its close to the airport, so it's a perfect place for your first or last night of a trip. Highly recommended!

A quiet, handy and affordable place to stay, though breakfast is pretty basic and they don't serve dinner. The mountain setting makes it a good spot if you want to get away, read a book or just relax.

I camped at Vineyards Country Lodge at Droombos on a recent visit to Windhoek. It's just outside Klein Windhoek. Each pitch has its own "braai" (BBQ), kitchenette and private ablutions with a toilet, sink and shower, which made the trip much more comfortable. There aren't many sites, and some work better than others for caravans or bush wagons. If you're bringing one of those, I'd strongly recommend site 1 for its space and room to maneuver. Since the lodge is part of the larger Droombos, there's plenty to explore on the grounds, including a restaurant and bar (reviewed separately) and a curio shop. Free WiFi at the campsites was a nice bonus. Keep an eye on your food, too, as Bamboos may try to take it and can be quite resourceful. Euhentia, Callie and the rest of the staff gave us great service and were always willing to help. The one downside was that the camping area felt a little like an afterthought. The owner told us about plans to revamp it, so I'm interested to see what they do. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone looking to camp near Windhoek with private ablution facilities.

A clean, well-kept campsite with private facilities, close to Windhoek. The restaurant and souvenir shop are on site. Traffic can be an issue because it's near the B6, and the view looks onto locked garages, so don't come expecting scenery.
