At Area 2, section 1, Garki Abuja, it’s quiet and affordable, a nice spot for a few days. There’s a swimming pool, and power is on 24 hours. The rooms have a TV, AC, and WiFi, though the TV channel selection is pretty limited. Breakfast is included, but you pick one item rather than getting the usual buffet.

The staff are generally polite, but the service needs serious work given the hotel’s location and popularity. At a premium price, breakfast is a la carte with basically two very poor choices. Hard to believe.

The location is excellent, but I didn’t think the stay was worth 45k a night. The hotel seems old, with most of the facelift on the outside. My room had no window, and I never got the early breakfast or an explanation. The room itself was just average. Google’s prices were wrong too, the standard room costs 45k. The bathroom was tiny, and I felt uncomfortably close to the water heater. There wasn’t a mirror in the room, which I’d expect as a basic thing. The elevator was very slow. They mentioned a pool, spa, and other amenities, but I didn’t check them out. I skipped the other food options too because I wasn’t in the mood.

The restrooms were clean and attractive, and the poundo yam was presented nicely. Meals could come out a bit salty unless you let the restaurant know ahead. It looks new, though it’s not state-of-the-art, and you might want to bring shampoo and conditioner since they provide soap and body lotion. In my view, it’s more like a 2- to 3-star hotel.
