Silverland Hotel and Suites

The generator noise carried into my room and was quite disturbing. Several electrical sockets didn’t work, and the AC and TV remotes had dead batteries when I reported the problem. I also had to carry my luggage from the gate up to reception without anyone offering help, despite the distance and height. My first impression was that it was a good hotel, but there’s room for improvement.

The network in my room didn’t work at all. I kept raising it with the receptionist, assistant manager, and manager, but none seemed bothered. I needed to stay online all night before a 7am interview, and they provided no wifi or browsing network. After I first called the manager, he stopped answering and began declining my calls. It was a terrible experience. Do not stay here.

Silverland hotel is a good choice if you want somewhere affordable and peaceful that’s still near the city centre. Just plan to get your food and drinks outside the hotel.

The bed was extremely comfortable, the AC got properly cold, and the water heater provided plenty of hot water. Staff were friendly and helpful. The TV had no satellite stations, and even after I complained it wasn’t fixed, so I ended up watching movies from my USB. The shower drain also needs to be faster. I was standing in a pool of water while showering, which I didn’t like. For the price in Abuja, it wasn’t bad.
