Signature Grand Hotel

It's a quiet, peaceful hotel, away from the noise in town, and a nice place to stay. Still, it badly needs renovation. Several things don't work or need replacing: the pool isn't working, the building needs paint, and the snooker table should be replaced.

The services were horrendous and the staff were rude, especially the manager. I came with my family but couldn't stay the night because things were so bad. The hotel was open despite having no working AC and broken heaters. It's a very bad hotel. Please don't go there, it's not worth your money.

The staff were the one good part of the stay. Most were friendly and helpful. But the place isn't properly maintained: there were water stains all over the walls, and I had to change rooms twice to find one with a lit bathroom. The upper-floor window ledges are very low and have no bars or other protection, yet the windows were left wide open. Children could easily fall out. The bathrooms also felt unsafe. I nearly slipped and fell in the bathtub the first night, and had to keep my balance precariously while bathing. The next morning, I heard my son had slipped and fallen in the bathtub in his room. Luckily he wasn't hurt. I checked my family out straight away and moved to another hotel. I didn't bathe there a second time, and didn't want to risk it again. This hotel wouldn't pass an HSE test, and I don't expect to stay here again.

I enjoyed my four-day stay at this modest hotel in Independence Layout, Enugu, but the upkeep needs attention, like at many similar places. The AC only worked after I complained, and the TV never worked. The hot water was fine.
