Mahogany Hotel and Suites

I visited and found all the basic amenities you'd expect at a standard hotel. The staff were welcoming and nice, too. I recommend it.

I’m sorry I blamed the staff in a panic when I thought my phone had gone missing. I found it later in my own car. From the front desk to the manager, everyone stayed patient and professional while I was upset, and the general manager was especially understanding and took steps to help sort it out. That kind of integrity and care for guests really impressed me. I’ll stay here again and recommend the hotel. It was a good reminder of what kindness and service look like.

I paid ₦140,000 for two nights for a guest who had just come off a 24-hour flight. After one miserable night, I moved her elsewhere because the water problem still hadn’t been resolved, and I didn’t want her first impression of Nigeria or my reputation with my international colleague to suffer further. The bathroom had no running water, and after a long wait staff brought a bucket instead of fixing it. When I asked for the unused night to be refunded, they said I’d have to wait a week and sent a policy that, in my view, didn’t cover their service failure. A week later I was told the person who approves refunds only comes to Ibadan once a week, and he hadn’t come, so I waited another week. It took 17 days to get my money back. The stay was a huge frustration and a waste of money. Run from this hotel. They shouldn’t be in business.

Mahogany is a lovely place, the staff do great work, and the food is nice 😊
