Bovina View Hotel

I’ve rarely dealt with staff as awful as these. The receptionists don’t pay attention to their service, snap at guests, talk down to them, and act neglectful and snobbish.

On my second stay at Bovina Hotel, I found the location convenient, with easy airport access and a mosque on site. The room’s broken shower was a letdown, and the facility needs better upkeep. The two men who checked me in were courteous and professional. I didn’t meet the manager face to face, but he was responsive in our interactions and good at handling negotiations. The woman on duty when I checked out in the morning came across as unnecessarily sarcastic. Better maintenance and more consistent service would improve the guest experience.

The mosque inside the hotel is a big plus for me. You don’t see that everywhere, though I’ve also seen one at Ilaji Resort. It’s usually quiet, and the workers keep to themselves so much they’re almost invisible, perhaps that’s the standard they’re expected to follow. I’d have rated it five stars if they didn’t have that unfair rule against bringing in outside food and drinks. I assume they have their reasons, though.

The surroundings are lovely, but my room had lots of mosquitoes. The air conditioning was below par, and the socket should be nearer the bed.
