Beni Hotels

I use Beni when I come into Lagos for quick meetings, and I've stayed there several times. It's a cheap and cheerful place, basic but clean. I found the old part of Lagos interesting to walk around, with markets and workshops tucked into back streets. I saw security at street corners, and personally didn't find anything to be afraid of, though some people might be wary of going out.

The staff were amazing, and the location deserves a star too. Beyond that, I found the place old and neglected. Our standard room was stuffy, moldy, and unhygienic, and the washroom was so dirty and smelly it made me gag. The AC was noisy but didn't cool the room. Wi-Fi wouldn't work, and after several calls to IT support went unanswered, I gave up. The lobby is nice, and they have an elevator. I didn't eat there, but the restaurant looked nice and the food did too. With a location like that, they should do better.

For the price and location, I had a good stay. I've tried both the standard and mini-standard rooms, and both seemed okay for what they cost. The only issue was the mini-standard toilet, which wouldn't flush, so I had to do it manually each time. The restaurant food was also top notch.

One of the worst hotels I've stayed in. The rooms were far below standard, with bare, unpainted walls and a dirty accent chair. The refrigerator was filthy and didn't work, and the bathroom was awful. I can't really describe how horrible the stay was.
