Everything in my room worked, and I paid $20 a night with free breakfast for 10 days. For that price, it’s a bargain. The infrastructure is dated, so don’t expect 4Star, and if you like luxury sheets, bring your own, along with towels. There’s a nice laundry nearby that does drop-offs for $4 one load. I usually stay in 5-star hotels, but this was an unplanned trip, so I went budget in Lagos. The Excellence hotel has no match in Ikeja for atmosphere, and the swimming pool is gorgeous. I didn’t play tennis, volleyball, or table tennis. Christmas was dead awesome, with some live entertainment. I love you, Excellence hotel.

The atmosphere was calm and relaxing. I enjoyed a refreshing swim in the pool, then chilled at the bar. It was a wonderful experience.

It’s a nice place to stay, with easy access to different places. Just come out and catch a bus to wherever you want to go.

I went there for the pool and had a great time. A three-month membership costs 32k naira and gives access to the pool, gym and basketball court. That seems like a good deal to me.

The location is perfect, and the rooms are above average. I hope 2026 brings better prospects for this long-standing OGBA-AGUDA MASTERPIECE. I remember a family dinner there when I was little, and its polished tables, gleaming silverware, pristine surroundings and unmistakable luxury set my idea of a five-star hotel. By 2025, though, the decor and atmosphere felt behind the times, as did the technology, quick service for guests and level of care.
