Preserve Hotel Ilupeju

The rooftop lounge has a lovely atmosphere and stays fairly quiet, while the ground-floor nightclub had great energy and an awesome DJ. There’s also parking available. The hotel’s central Lagos location made it easy to reach the airport, Victoria Island, and Eko Atlantic City. Staff were friendly and dressed professionally. The food was great, and I could order room service. Laundry was available too. My room and bathroom were clean, and I liked being able to get hot or cold water.

Getting my access card to work was a hassle. I asked twice for it to be activated before it finally worked. The room was very small, and basic things were missing. There were no towels, and no bowl or other provision for proper personal hygiene after using the toilet, which made me uncomfortable. My stay was very disappointing and fell short of basic expectations.

The internet was very poor, and the customer service has declined. I’d stayed here several times before, but after this visit I won’t be coming back or recommending the hotel. A housekeeper entered my room without knocking or asking permission while I was half-dressed. That was unacceptable and invaded my privacy. I gave the hotel another chance, but the receptionist was nonchalant. Only after I’d paid was I told check-in was at 2pm. There was no apology or effort to accommodate me, even though I’d been allowed to check in early on earlier visits.

The staff were friendly, professional, and ready to help, and everything from check-in onward felt well managed. My room was spotless, comfortable, and well equipped, and the amenities were better than I expected. I had a relaxing, enjoyable stay at preserve hotel and would happily recommend it. I’ll be back.
