The Providence Hotel

Really delicious food, worth every bit. I also liked the gym and the comfortable conference rooms, especially the smaller ones that work for teams of 20-50.

I was shocked that, on the morning of a friend’s wedding, the hotel wouldn’t provide champagne glasses in the room for getting ready and taking pictures. They said they had none, then wanted to charge extra for each wine glass they offered. The bride had already paid extra to take photos at the hotel, after booking several rooms for the wedding. That lack of consideration for a guest spending a significant amount and choosing the hotel for her big day was unbelievable. It followed an already awful check-in day, when a Christmas carol party in the lobby made it overcrowded and extremely noisy, and the staff were barely working. Why hold it in the lobby instead of a separate space? I had the worst experience, with no concern for customer satisfaction. I’d recommend a different hotel nearby. I’ve had a much nicer stay at The Marriott, which isn’t far away. If you expect to feel valued and don’t want surprise charges, avoid this place.

The security team kept my heels safe with reception after I accidentally left them in the hall near the desk following an event. I went back and collected them. They provide great service, and the food is good too 🤭.

My first visit was for a workshop. The hall we used was spacious, and the podium looked modern. The security guards were polite and welcoming, even while explaining the rules for using the spaces.
