At Axion Hotel I found the surroundings neat, secure, and well maintained, with facilities in great shape and everything working perfectly. The room was clean, spacious, and nicely arranged, and the comfortable bed and quiet atmosphere made it easy to rest. Staff welcomed me warmly and the customer service was top-notch. I had a wonderful stay and will return whenever I’m in Owerri.

Good value and nice rooms. Construction and generators took away from the atmosphere around the bar, pool, and soccer area. It should be great once the work is done.

The employees were nice, and the electricity stayed on the whole time. Water worked most of the time, though the toilet wouldn’t flush during the night and was fine again by morning. They also washed our car overnight, which was a nice surprise. The breakfast they brought was delicious, I was told, but it was included for only one person even though we’d rented the rooms for three adults and paid extra for a folding cot bed. We only found that out after waiting an hour, and had no time to wait another hour, so we got food elsewhere. We had a Presidential Suite with two rooms, each with a door to the hallway. Once we’d settled in and were going to bed, we discovered the bedroom door wouldn’t lock. The extra deadbolt that lets the door open slightly worked fine, so we used that. The AC in one room wasn’t blowing cold. It was noisy, and people arriving very late were loud until 1:00 in the morning. The rooms need improvement.

The room was more spacious and put together than it looked in the photos, and I liked the living room for watching Afcon games. I missed the balcony at first, then found it and enjoyed the view. Outdoor furniture there would be a nice addition. The bathroom had nomadic-style art on the walls, a thoughtful little detail. I also liked the open stair layout, and got the wifi from the front desk right away. Staff were helpful and efficient, and check-in was friendly and professional. The landscaping stood out, as did the welcoming entryway and the South African flag at the entrance, with its red, yellow, green, and black Afro colors. After I asked about the jacuzzi, a staff member showed me around the restaurant, gym, lounge club, and outdoor bush bar. We stepped onto the football pitch, where I kicked the ball around for a bit, which was genuinely fun. The tour ended in the comfortable, air-conditioned coffee room, where we were offered a complimentary chilled juice. It was reassuring that the hotel responded quickly to my messages on WhatsApp and Booking.com after I booked on Booking.com during Detty December. Another hotel had cancelled my confirmed reservation, something that unfortunately happens in Nigeria when rooms go to walk-in guests paying in person, but this booking held. I paid a few days later through the LemFi app by wire transfer without any trouble. For booking hotels in Nigeria, I strongly recommend using Booking.com, WhatsApp, and LemFi together. I’d read reviews about the road access beforehand, so I was prepared. Axion Road is unpaved and uneven, and isn’t clearly marked from Port Harcourt Rd, the main road. Downloading offline maps of Owerri and Google Maps locations is a good idea, so you can help guide your driver. Because other guests had mentioned the road, I managed to do that without stress. It really needs paving and a clear sign. The reviews set expectations well, and the photos were accurate, though the property looked even better in person. A true hidden gem in Owerri, with good amenities, thoughtful design, strong communication, and excellent service. I’d absolutely stay again.

The rooms were comfortable and beautifully designed, and the location worked well for exploring the city. Friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere made me feel at home from the moment I arrived. I had a wonderful stay and would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Owerri.
